In some ways, I think the OL is the most impactful position group aside from QB. We have been blessed in the last two years to have a consistent, talented group that was not dominant but was very proficient and probably at worst top 10 in the league and likely much better.
If Noteboom and Allen will allow us to stay at that level, then fine, pick up a few more developmental players later in the draft. But if not, I vote for doing what it takes to make sure we have at least one more player who can play at a high level.
Sullivan had a solid but not dominant year last year - his production should not be hard to replace. Saffold on the other hand was a top OG, especially in the run game where he ALWAYS seemed to be downfield throwing blocks on our best runs.
Our QB is growing but is still young. I think letting the OL slide this year could be the biggest danger we face in terms of staying at the top of the NFC West and making another deep run. And two things that protect young QBs are a strong run game and good pass pro.
