I think finding a franchise guy is recently, easier, than it's ever been. I'm not saying it's easy. I'm saying it's easier.
Look what is happening...
Kids are playing year round in high school. They go from the season, to after season conditioning, to 7 on 7 leagues (where all they do is throw) in the late spring-early summer. They then start "training camp". Kids are throwing the ball in spread offenses well over 50% of the time.
I don't necessarily think the kids coming out today have just become better athletes, it's that they practice throwing year round and have done so in game conditions from high school through college.
Practice makes perfect. In this case, more guys are prepared to throw the ball and deal with the pressures that come with it...hence...a bigger pool.
