I disagree with the idea that a shortage of QBs causes the high dollar value assigned to the QB position. The value of the QB position to a team winning games is much more likely the cause. With a good QB you have a chance to win most games.
Cousins is an interesting case. There is a tier of QBs that are not worth the 30+ million franchise QBs receive. The Redskins did not believe Cousins was worth the money but the Vikings/Jets? did.
The reality is if you have a QB that you consider franchise caliber you have already won. And you will and should pay them whatever the market demands. Paying Goff, if he does not improve, will be painful but necessary.
Russell will make 35$ mil plus easy imo. If Cousins is worth 30$...
