I'm not sure you can coach up focus. You are either focused or you aren't. Its amazing what a giant contract can do as far as forcing somenone to focus and do al lthe small things to get said contract though. Maybe that big 2nd NFL contract is just the thing he needs.
It might just be a case of trying to learn the position and thinking too much and not just reacting. Thinking slows you down as an athlete.
