Again there has got to be someone in this thread that gets this
Is Goff a QB that relies purely on everything around him, coach, Gurley, oline, absurd WR talent to thrive? Or is he a QB that can elevate? Does he process information so quickly that he can beat a defense? Is he an extension of McVay (coach on the field) or just robotically a QB that functions as instructed by McVay in that headset and if things are different than McVay describes he struggles
This QB is coming into his 4th year. He has a ways to go guys to be the kind of QB we will need him to be consistently and against very good opposition
Right now I have him outside the top 10. Let’s see if he can get in that group or better next year. The talent around him says he should be
Not sure what's happened since the bye, but in 8 games since then, Goff's numbers have been terrible:
165/286(57.7%) 1,853yds(6.48ypa) 7TD(2.4%/8INT(2.8%) 73.7 passer rating
And those numbers could be considered skewed considering his lone good game during that span was against the 49ers. Stat-padding by a SB contender against one of the worst teams in the league, the last game of the year is skewing IMO.
It really was a tale of two seasons for him. From MVP candidate in the first half to Kyle Boller the second half. Are the numbers suggesting something or just an extended slump?
