About CJ vs MB. I’m glad they chose MB, regardless of the price.
And no disrespect for CJ intended because he did an amazing job in quick relief that assured our first round bye, but he came in against the Cards and the 49ers while McVay and the OL assumed a circle the wagons mentality. McVay ran a ton of 2 TE sets plus the OL was blowing people off the ball left and right.
My point? A healthy MB could have been quite effective under those conditions, too. Plus, I think MB is a slightly better blocker and definitely has the edge as a receiver.
One last thing. After three games I noticed that CJ’s numbers really tailed off. Opponents adjustments? Or simply tired? I dunno.
I will say this. When re-watching early season games before MB was injured I noticed that MB was effective. Very effective, no matter what the cold stats might say.
