Samson Ebukam may not be a full participant during the Los Angeles Rams’ offseason program this spring and summer. According to Gary Klein of the L.A. Times, Ebukam underwent minor surgery on his knee after the season.

The Rams will reportedly bring Ebukam along slowly this offseason in hopes that he will be 100 percent healthy for training camp. It’s unclear exactly what the procedure was or when the injury originally occurred, but it was likely just a small clean-up of his knee.

Ebukam played all 16 games last season, starting 14 of them, while also making two starts in the playoffs. In the regular season, he recorded three sacks, 40 tackles (six for loss), forced three fumbles and recovered two. He also had a pick-six and returned one of those fumbles for a touchdown.

His role was reduced slightly after the Rams acquired Dante Fowler Jr. at the trade deadline, and with Clay Matthews being signed this week, Ebukam will likely be a backup in 2019. He’s a former fourth-round pick out of Eastern Washington, being selected 125th overall in 2017.
