Your concerns in your last paragraphs are why I think the TE and ILB won't happen that early, if at all.
One of their patterns lately has been drafting positions that will have openings next year. CB is at the top of that list because multiple contracts are up. I'd be shocked if one wasn't drafted by the 3rd or 4th. Same with edge, OL, and DL to some degree.
Edge is really weird in this draft. Without a trade down, I'm not sure it happens early enough either. But right now, my money is on them trading down into the 2nd. I could see a trade to somewhere around 40 and taking Winovich there.
IMO, they'll hit at least 3 of 4 positions of OL, Edge, DL, and CB within the first 4 rounds even if that means moving up and down.
