I am surprised Mannion did not get a Head Coach gig already. He has spent time with McVay.
Vet #2 salaries are not cheap. There is not much cap space left. Do you spend one of the 3rd rounders on a QB? Do you trust a rookie drafted in the 4th round or below as your #2 on a team in a Super Bowl window with young starters on the offensive line?
Bortles (or others) might get a chance to rehabilitate the image of his career with McVay tutelage on his resume.
