My take...
Saffold was a top guard and one of the Rams best linemen in years.
But he is not being replaced by "journeymen" and with a good OL coach you don't rate a player by his draft round. Look at great Rams linemen over the years. Slater was a third round pick. Timmerman was a 7th round pick. Doug Smith was an undrafted free agent. Only 1 of the GSOT superbowl linemen (both 99 and 2001) was taken in the first round (Pace). The next highest pick was the 5th round (Miller). Both superbowl centers were UDFAs.
A journeyman is a veteran player who never quites rises to starting caliber. 2 2nd year draft picks don't meet that definition.
