There were some here who kept saying "all he needs is some rest and he'll be fine for the playoffs". Yeah, well, how'd that work out? I was in the "he's hurt more than he's letting on" camp since last November. We're probably never going to know exactly what the heck was going on and I have a problem with that. What bothers me more than anything is that it seems shady on the part of the coaches and organization not to have been forthcoming about Gurley's injury. They (including McVay) HAD to have known what the diagnosis was, but they sure weren't telling anybody. And that makes me skeptical going into the 2019 season, too. I've already seen over and over that "he's fine" was not the truth. I'll remain a skeptic until Gurley shows me different through his performance on the field.
It's entirely possible that unless he were scoped, they might NOT know.
I think the whole thing revolved around this. They said he had inflammation. Inflammation has a cause. In most cases the cause does not just go away. Meanwhile the inflammation and/or pain could be day to day. They said they did an MRI, and that rules out heavy structural causes---but it doesn't necessarily tell you what the CAUSE is,
