My comments about Cooks relate more to him playing bigger in the most important games... I really needed him to catch that TD pass to tie the game. It wasn't a tough catch. He got to make that. Has to
The Rams actually create space in the middle with Cooks and Woods... the role you desire for a TE and is already performed by Kupp
Many times when the Rams are in that 3 WR formation the TE is blocking helping the oline
I like Higbee and Everett more than you do. I think McVay has to use them more and I imagine finally he will next years based on how his offense was dismantled by the Lions, Eagles, Bears, and Patriots. I think hey need a more physical TE. They need a FB too. I think Higbee will be gone next year once they find that better blocking TE
You know what Goff needs?... is to stop sucking the teat and learn how to read defenses. One of McVay's biggest priorities has to be to let Goff go and stop feeding him plays. Goff must get stronger mentally.
IMO the Rams don't need a dynamic TE. Unless they traded Kupp

You mentioned McVay needs addition personnel groupings...that I agree.
However, you kind of jump on Cooks and he had over 1,000 and made keys catches during the season.
Let me beat the horse that has died 1,000 deaths...
Get a darn TE that can stretch the field, create space in the middle and give our WRs some space underneath.
And for those who are about to tell me Everett is a guy who can...I call utter BS. He can't. He won't. Higbee is the chain mover...good out in the flat on play action, roll outs.
Keep the OLine in tact, with some more support and get that TE. That will open up this offense to new heights!
Anyone here tell me...out of Everett's catches...this season...how many were in the middle of the field 10+ yards downfield?
Otherwise, we need to fill holes on defense...LB...solidfy the edge...and sure up the DB.
I read where Todd McShay had a mock with 2 TE's in the mix. I'm all in on that. Why? Goff needs it...and he needs it badly.
