I know exactly what you are talking about.
I make my own opinion based on How I interpret pretty much anything, but I will change my opinion of someone has an explaination that proves my interpretation wrong.
This play is a good example because I don’t think it was that blatant of a pass interference even though my interpretation could be clouded a bit because I’m a Rams fan.
R-C was in good position if he plays the ball and was in position to block Thomas from catching the ball and it could have been called an uncatchable pass if R-C was a tiny bit later getting to Thomas. The ball never made it to Thomas because he got blown up.
The sideline view it does look like pass interference and the end zone view it looks like Thomas would have had to reach around or through R-C to catch the ball.
I also don’t think it was a helmet to helmet hit. He hit with his shoulder simultaneously so it wasn’t a targeting hit like they would call it in college football.
If it was called a h2h it would have made the several other h2h hits or face masks in the gamee that were not called.
It was just unlucky for the Aints that this call happens when it did at the end of regulation.
The pass to Thomas In the end zone at 8:50 of third quarter should have been offensive pass interference or personel foul on Thomas when he ripped R-C’s helmet off.
The announcer said R-c was thrown aside and his helmet was ripped off.
That would have backed the Aints up and Rams have a better chance to hold them to a field goal.
