I've never seen a crowd on TV...make it nearly impossible to even call plays to a guy right next to you. I know there were issues with Goff's helmet and stuff...but the sheer volume - even over the TV - was astonishing to me. All that energy...going against the Rams...is just an amazing thing to overcome. THAT the Rams played an ugly game on offense for most of the game imo....doesn't matter cuz they hung together & played together and kept themselves in the game so that it would come down to a play or two...and it did. And we took that game from the Saints...we
took it...
someone should report a burglary.
The bad PI call wasn't the only reason the Saints lost...they could not put us away...and THAT'S why they lost....it should never have been that close. The Saints shoulda/woulda/coulda put us away early...they were playing great football. imo
The Rams played poorly on offense
(cept on defense who played lights out against a great offense - sans Joyners sin on that bomb) and mcVay needed to adjust sooner. It was an ugly win...but it was more about the team hanging together in that incredibly loud dome and keeping the faith and resolve in each other.
btw- Football is a wonderful game of humanity and working together in the direst of circumstances. I loved that so much of the players comments after the game had little to do with Xs & Os...and more about the emotional bonds that get tested and finding a way to rise above - working together towards a singular goal. "Oh the Humanity", indeed!!
Sports (football especially) brings out the best of us.
