Because you all still don't get Everett's inability to play the position...or let's say...you don't see what I see.
So...before anyone has a heart attack about my comment...
Everett can only operate out wide, which is why 98% of his catches are on the sideline. Can he play inside on the goal line for a 5 yard pass...possibly. He's good for 1 or 2 a year. But he is not a "real" TE...and he never will be.
Anyway, even though Higbee is underutilized, the bottom line is he isn't THE answer. But, in watching the KC game, I saw some hops once he had the ball in his hand. It wasn't for long yardage but he did make a guy miss and plowed ahead. I think he could help utilize the middle of the field better and help out Cooks who really is the only guy catching anything in that area. At least McVay should try. And, for people who think McVay has some secret approach that he hasn't shown all year...well...maybe this is the opportunity.
So ultimately...for me...this hasn't changes...THE answer is not on the roster.
With a real TE, Goff will get a player he needs to fully develop.
Now...let Everett go out and prove me wrong and catch a couple passes down the seam for first downs.
I wouldn't hold your breath! lol
That's the biggest concession I can make on the position for the Rams.
What was I thinking when I posted it?
