I give you the example of the Rams first drive against Dallas.
On third down near the goal line, a Dallas blitzer comes unblocked at Goff.
He immediately just throws it away, and the Rams have to settle for a field goal.
I suppose some could see that as Goff just chickening out, but I don't think that's who he is.
I think McVay has stressed to him that an incompletion is much preferred to an ill-advised throw into traffic or a strip sack.
So Goff is throwing away some passes in situations that perhaps COULD be completed with more risk.
His completion percentage isn't high.
But the Rams had ZERO turnovers. And the Rams are winning.
That's the way McVay wants it.
