I couldn't remember what started this so had to go looking for the whole story. Found it in a November article in 247sports.com.
Geez, Peters needs to learn when to just shut up..
Marcus Peters has some strong words for Sean PaytonBy James Parks Nov 9, 2018
Most people who saw the match up between Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas and Rams cornerback Marcus Peters can tell you that only one half of that pairing came away from their Week 9 meeting with all that much to brag about.
Thomas finished the game with 211 receiving yards, a Saints franchise single game record all time, catching 12 of his 15 targets, and had the game clinching 72 yard touchdown in the final frame to help push New Orleans ahead for good and take down what was the last undefeated team in football.
The player defending Thomas on that score was Peters, who took his play against Thomas in stride afterwards, but sounded more than a little irritated with how Saints head coach Sean Payton said he was pleased with matching Thomas up on the cornerback.
“Tell Sean Payton to keep talking that sh-t,” Peters said on Thursday.
“We going to see him soon, you feel me?” Peters added. “Because I like what he was saying on the sidelines, too. So tell him to keep talking that sh-t. I hope he see me soon, you feel me? Then we going to have a good lil, nice lil bowl of gumbo together.”
For those who may have missed, Payton sounded very pleased that the Rams were going to have Peters tail Thomas in the game, a 45-35 Saints victory.
“They were going to travel Marcus to him, and that was fine by us,” Payton said after the game. “We thought we really liked that match up. A lot.”
Time will tell if they like it as much should these two teams meet again in the NFC Championship Game.
