I do think the Rams defense has underperformed all season long with a few exceptions like Arizona early in the season. In fact the defense has not played well in a number of games and has been a huge concern since early in the season. However They have played pretty darn well since Talib has come back and while they still have trouble with QB that can run and big backs they have been effective for the most part. The defense has also done a good job on takeaways and disruptive plays. Still I thought the defense has the players to be dominate and so far they have fallen short. But if they can play well we can win.
The offense has been pretty good thought I think they have underperformed for a stretch when teams started to make adjustments and the Rams failed to compensate. Losing Kupp and Gurley being limited and Brown going down were added into the mix and the wheels kind of fell off as Goff looked like he did under Fisher for a few games. It seems like the ship has been righted and the offensive line has gotten their MOJO back. I expect good things out of this unit as they will come out rested and physical.
Special Teams: Return game has been lacking of late and Natson even had a turnover at a critical moment that may have led to a loss. With the Offense struggling for a few games it did give Hekker time to get into a good groove and he has been sensational. I think the coverage has been pretty good but it has been a while since we have seen a big play out of this unit.
Keys with Dallas: Even though Prescott has been player really well lately especially since they have acquired Cooper Dallas is not a team that is designed to overcome big deficits. Jumping out to a big lead would be really great but it sure isn't easy. The Rams are build to make things happen and should be ready to play this week. Defense has been peaking, Offense has been resurrected and Goff is back to being Goff. Special teams brings to great kickers who are now in peak form. We have had some adversity and come out on the other side hopefully better and more prepared. If the Rams come out ready to play with good offensive and defensive game plans they win this one going away. I think there is still a test for McVay to pass and that is getting the team ready to play and win the big game. A win here and his legend grows right before our eyes. It will be interesting to see how we come out of the gate in this game. If we come out flat and crap the bed then that will be disappointing and an area that McVay will have to overcome as he travels the road to greatness. My money is on McVay having the team ready to play and a big win on Saturday.
