I don’t consider questioning Whit and Sully as players with high mileage that seem to be fading late in the season to be a big stretch, dz. In fact, to claim otherwise seems to be the bigger stretch to me. I think Bonifay is on very solid ground there.
As to Saffold? I would love to extend him. I think he has 3-5 very good years left in him and I would love for them to be as a Ram.
Sounds like Boom and Allen have pleased the coaches and might be worthy future starter replacements. Clearly, the Ram coaches wisely anticipated their future OL needs.
But it’s a never ending job, isn’t it? Further depth must and will be added to the OL pipeline.
I don't consider questioning Whit and Sully to be a big stretch either. In fact, I stated that I agree with his take on Sully.
What I question is this need for a big overhaul. I question whether there is a huge need for this great influx of new talent that's going to require huge money expenditures or a lot more draft resources.
What I see is that the Rams already anticipated their need and have done about 75% of the overhaul with Noteboom, Allen, Blythe, and possibly Demby. If they resign Saffold, I think they need another 1 or 2 bodies at most for depth.
That's not a huge overhaul.
