I'm colored by having started to watch the NFL as a little kid in 1977-1978. Sure, the Cowboys were rivals but I also had respect for them. Same with the Steelers since they were the first "unbeatable" team I knew and they were sort of larger than life for me as a little kid.
My list of who I really dislike is very small. The 49ers are far and away #1, of course. #2 has probably over time become Seattle. #3, for now, is still the Patriots. Admittedly out of spite probably. And some based on annoyance from local fans who I find not very knowledgeable and most with zero recollection of the team before about week 14 of 2001. But my guess is after Belichick and Brady leave they won't bother me anymore.
Raiders, Chiefs, Eagles, Vikings, Giants, etc.? Just never bothered me. A lot of my extended family are Giants fans. Of course I'd never go to Eagles, Raiders or probably Giants home games.
While they're the Rams biggest competitor for the NFC championship the Saints have grown on me as a team I like because I've come to love the city and the locals are SO cordial and welcoming. And I like Brees.
