Sorry I missed last week's post ... I had a little hospital matter to attend to. All is well though. My main points would have actually gone against Wade, as I know he does half time adjustments, but that game he needed to adjust before giving up 5 TDs.
Also, the positive would have been coming back from 21 points to tie it up ... that's guts.
But, back on task.
The Great1) I get real satisfaction out of sweeping the Hawks.
2) Goff putting up big numbers on a workmanlike day ... 300 yards 2 TDs no INTs.
3) Defense finishing the game when it counted.
The Good4) TDs to TEs ...
5) Fowler's redemption.
6) 8 yard chunks by the O line on the ground.
7) Robert Woods in his role as "most underrated WR in the NFL."
8) Holding on to Nick Williams.
9) Brandin Cooks pulling the extra weight ...
10) Aaron getting 2.5 more sacks on Russell ... I want him to have more Russell sacks than anyone else in history.
11) Another buck 20 for Gurley.
The Bad12) It being as close as it was.
13) How many 15 yard penalties did we have?
14) How many 10+ yard runs did Russell have?
The Ugly15) 270 rushing yards? Seriously? Like ... really. What is that? And what is it with rookies cutting their teeth on us? Ugh.
College16) Just want to mention that Antoine Wesley on Texas Tech is as much a beast as N'Keal Harry ...
17) Alabama and Clemson ... then a BIG Gap. Michigan and Notre Dame will be having a hard bowl season unless they slip up and don't make it to the semis ...
18) Hockenson is the best TE ... unfortunately he's a sophomore.
19) Freshman talent at QB is interesting. The Lawrence kid at Clemson is about the best freshman QB I've ever seen. In fact, he'd likely be in the conversation for best college QB regardless of age.
20) The talent on defense in the top 50 makes a trade down with the first pick a real option.
21) Safety is deep and has a couple high end kids. Not as high as last year (they were underdrafted) ... but realllllly deep. Starters likely down through 20 players. Maybe more.
22) As a scout I have games Im into this weekend ... but beyond that ... the only big game that should be good is Iowa State/Texas.
Thanks as always .. thoughts and comments welcome ...
