Some blame Martz for the style of offense but I still wonder. Even with Warner's ability to get rid of the ball and Faulk being a OUTSTANDING blocker, Warner OFTEN got SMEARED.....I mean CREEEAMED during those years. It was often ignored because often the result was good. I mean...Look at the game winner during SB 34 to Bruce. Warner got smashed on that play. If you guys recall, by HALFTIME of that game, he was hurting big time and some called to sit him. Then came Bulger. By year two or three as a starter, he was shell shocked.
Goff? Yeah, he has been sacked a few times and hit but so far, I haven't seen too many crushing blows.
With all this said, the GSOT line was not BAD but , IMO, 4-5 weapons on offense who could get open QUICKLY and a QB who could stand in there, made them look better than they were.
