I think it says more about the quaility of the Rams' starters and also reflects the fact that the Rams didn't have a 1st or 2nd round pick so they weren't in position to grab a blue-chipper.
I am actually quite high on this year's class. Here's why:
That being said Joe Noteboom is a future starter, perhaps as early as next year, and perhaps is the heir to Whitworth at LT. Not bad for a 3rd round pick.
4th round pick Brian Allen can play C and both guard spots. He could be the swing interior lineman as early as next season.
John Franklin-Myers (also 4th round) is a valuable member of the DL rotation. "He was a fourth-round draft pick out of a smaller college program, but Rams rookie defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers is coming up big for the Rams." [

5th round pick Micah Kiser has been in every game but only has 1 tackle. Maybe he's just playing special teams? (Anyone know?)
Ogbo Okoronkwo (also 5th round) is poised to contribute as a situational pass rusher. Can't wait to see him. If he does anything he's a huge hit as a 5th rounder. Starter next year at OLB? Could be!!
The rest of the draft class is a mixed bag (Kelly, Demby, Joseph, Young, Howard, Lawler) but they're all 6th and 7th rounders. Kelly, Young, and Lawler are on the 53, not sure where the other 3 area
