And more to come. I appreciate your position and sense of calm and lack of urgency. The down side of it though is you miss the rush and if this is what you get when can you raise your expectations. There is no real threshold that allows you to know that it is going to happen and or should happen is there? Same time and chance coupled with effort and persistence right?
But I certainly feel that the increased personal energy and heightened expectations are warranted.
Goff does not need to experience more adversity to get better any more than I need to get into a car accident and come thru that to become a better driver or a safer one. IMO that experience is what each game provides weekly for him to grow and I can see him growing.
We have one of the elite caliber coaches in the league and he is flanked by some of the best coaches in the league. I think that said this organization has stood up and made a claim for the rights to play for and in the Super Bowl and yes with the intent to win. HOw do I know I look at the talent we have on the field.
A gripe here or there on the quality or missed opportunities in a game that was played actually are very mild against a claim of mild expectations.
Ahead of schedule or not we are a top 4 team in this league and right now we are at the top of the heap with a 6-0 record.
Now we can curb our enthusiasm to soften the blow of future disappointment but why would we? Jared Goff took some hits yesterday. He still rose up and made key plays. Jared played with Gloves in the cold probably an urging from some based on the pass rush capabilities and a desire to minimize fumbles. Good or bad move he took the hits and lead this team to a win. Certainly not the best statistical game ever yet we already know what he can do and if we are honest have seen worse games from some of the top QBs in this league. By the time it is all over Goff will have risen well above last year and this team is only getting better.
Yes so much can change or happen. Nothing like losing some key players along the way but this is a team effort and if the players are expected to believe and compete and get better then our expectations need to also rise to the occasion in my opinion.
