We’re not even in great disagreement here, if you ask me.
Here’s my position:
McVay and Goff both had an off game. It was a “one-off” thing, not a trend.
Rams won, anyway.
McVay blames himself for all offensive errors. Even went into great detail on a couple of play calls. Avoids or dismisses any reporter questioning of Goff, OL, or receivers. Except for the detailed explanation on those few play calls, it was pretty typical.
I have NO doubt, however, that privately McVay explains to each involved player what went wrong and how to do it better next time. I mean, that’s what coaches (and teachers) do, right?
Additionally, I’m sure that McVay is strenuously reviewing his own playcalling in this one. He knows that he can and must do better.
The above is my take. And I don’t think it’s all that much different than your own, really.
