Hypothetically, if McVay thinks that Goff should have gotten rid of the ball faster on any or all of those sacks on Sunday they will have that conversation behind closed doors. Which I'm sure you'd agree is a lot more productive than standing in front of the microphone and saying. "yeah, we could have avoided most of those sacks if only Jared threw the ball away'. Really, what is to be gained from that?
But the point was that the calls in question were themselves problematical.
The issue is situational playcalling not execution.
Part of the situation in the situational playcalling is being attuned to the fact that the qb was struggling to an extent against a D that combined a great pass rush with great coverage and sacrificed the run. To the point for example where they ignored play action.
Why be tonedeaf to that.....
