I would have taken Barkley, but they still don't have the right GM and Head Coach IMHO., Never was a fan of Shurmur, but what helped Shurmur get another gig even though he was 9-23 at Cleveland was, the fact the Browns were worse so others now considered that record actually good. Giants whiffed as they really wanted Matt Patricia, but Patricia chose Detroit over his home state because of the relationship with Bob Quinn.
Anyway they made the right pick in Barkley, but they will need another new GM and Head Coach before Barkley experiences post season and they will draft someone like Justin Hebert of Oregon or Drew Lock of Missouri to replace Eli.
Agree they don't have the right GM and Head Coach but I don't foresee any changes. This is the same GM who took Barkley. So he's safe. Besides, he's only been the GM for a year. They will probably take a QB early in the draft, and they would probably be satisfied with Shurmur to tutor the young QB.
They will have competition for a QB early. I do think Oakland will have a bad record as well and could move on from Carr. Gruden will want his guy. Tampa Bay is another team. Dallas another.
