Hop, Hop, Hop.....No quick back peddle......Eyes are almost always on the QB, then he stops any backward movement and WR eats up cushion immediately.
He would be better off on the LOS and play bump and run all day. When he's 8-10 yds off, there's nothing right, he's all over the place.
IMHO......You tell him play the WR...........STOP LOOKING AT THE QB!!!!....Look at the WR, he will take you to the ball.....
At this point, Peters is what he is. He plays the way he plays. I don't think they're going to coach him to suddenly change his game nor do I think they could coach him that way successfully.
He's not gonna stop looking at the QB and they probably don't want him to anyway since they knew he does that when they traded for him and that's the reason he's led the league in INTs since 2015. He's a playmaker that gambles. That's not changing.
His body is probably not right at the moment for his style of play. And as others have pointed out, he may be pressing to make big plays with Talib missing.
For the mental part, I think you tell him to calm down and not worry about being more a superstar with Talib gone. For the physical part, I expect him to return to previous level of play once his body gets 100%.
