Blythe has played hard and improved weekly over 2017 and 2018. I was very skeptical of the guy even being able to make the 53 during the 2017 preseason and he's proven me wrong. I like Jamon Brown more than most around here but I agree with McVay assuming he's doing this. In Brown they have a highly experienced 6th man now and perhaps now they will give Brian Allen those Wednesday starters' reps at center Blythe received last year that helped him improve so much.
To have Havenstein and Blythe locked in for 2019 plus young guys like Noteboom and Allen and of course Whitworth and Sullivan- one or both of which could return- helps the OL continuity going forward. Still likely to invest in another OL next April I would guess, though.
