Maybe he's compensating in his mechanics because of his injury last year.
Back surgeries are tough to recover from....many are never fully the same. His core strength might not be the same as it was... and like you say his mechanics might be slightly altered. I hope this isn't the start of a series of nagging injuries going forward.
Depending on the severity of his groin injury, it might be a good idea to jump on Bailey while he's available.
