and he plays lights out.
He might not have been viewed as a #1 WR, or whatever, but with McVay I think he wanted Cooks for certain roles in the offense. Plus his speed and quickness can be used in reverses, jet sweeps, etc. I like Woods and P Cooper but they don't have the crazy speed/quickness needed to keep defenses honest... so he should help in the run game as a "decoy". (Not saying that Woods and Pharoh won't be used that way, I simply think Cooks will be more effective.)
If he catches over 50, I think he'll break 1000... that's pretty good.
Ultimately, I think that is why they were laissez faire about signing Watkins. Because McVay thought Cooks was a better fit. IMO.
