So it's not news to say the DTRams tweet was probably not accurate. In fact that had already been said by several people (including PFT and VB ) before Shefter even woke up this morning.
IMO? I say don't get so hung up on bashing one tweet. To me that's the same thing (upside down) as believing one over the others. The trick is to hear all the reporters, none of whom know that much, and all of whom are speculating, but all of whom are picking up on the same thing.
And McVay said more than you are recalling here:

He too is saying the same thing I just said everyone else is saying---they're active, they're working, the process is moving, different people have different ideas of when it will get done but all think it will be. What hasn't changed is that they are dialoguing and working on it. If you add up all the accounts, including McVay;s, and including DTR, that have a range of comments with the same common denominator: it's getting there and probably will get there.
That means compromise, and it DOESN'T mean the Rams low initial offer was inflexible anymore than Donald's high initial demand was inflexible. They will meet somewhere in the middle.
This is all very different from last week when the rumors were that it was stalled and various people here took that very seriously and talked about trading him or how he wouldn't play this year and all that.
It really means something that ALL the rumors we get now have moved beyond that and that every indication is they are working on this and moving toward something. (Which will be a compromise and more than some thought last week it should be.)
