Ya, I heard him say that, too. It wasn't a fake plug. I believe Whit is right.
Jackie Slater said Wayne Gandy would be great, and I always laughed at that, but later on, maybe around 2002 I realized Gandy had sustained a career, and it went into a pretty long NFL career (1994-2008); additionally he had 2nd and 3rd contracts that were very big. Slater said he was 'naturally' strong; but I think Gandy didn't lift weights and so his natural strength was barely enough,and I think he was so passionate about playing. But, he was still a very good O lineman.
I say that to say, maybe Notebloom will be the same as Wayne Gandy (not a finisher by any means, or a mauler, but a great and smart position blocker with good size, and natural feet)
