I saw a piece on SportsCenter about Sam Darnold not signing his rookie deal yet. And I wondered who his agent was.
Sam is represented by Creative Artists Agency (CAA).
The only other first round pick who has not signed yet is Roquan Smith. I was not surprised to see that he is also represented by CAA.
And in what might not be a coincidence ... Aaron Donald's agent, Todd France, also works for CAA.
p.s. remember Joey Bosa's protracted negotiations last year? Also a Todd France client.
Just focusing on one thing at a time, there;s a lot of misconceptions about Bosa's contract issues.
That all comes up in another thread today:

Misconceptions about Bosa's contract aside, Albany's point about all of these holdouts being clients of the same agency is noteworthy.
I don't know what the real issues are in those other situations.
For all I know the issue falls more on the team. Until we know details it's leaping to conclusions.
For example, if the Rams hold steady at 21 M for Donald, that's low. To just automatically blame that on the agent is not illuminating to me.
Without details things like this have the danger of becoming mere scapegoating.
....
....
Wow. Let's just ignore the one common denominator.
Well think about it. I already said I think 21 M is low for Donald (and there are good reasons). The Bosa situation was on the team not the agent. And rookie holdouts can't be about money since the rookie cap slots players very predictably...so if it's not money, what are the issues?
Meanwhile those are not the only holdouts in the NFL right now. Or contract dispute (see Julio Jones, which got resolved).
Plus there's this almost inevitable tendency to scapgoat an agent who is perceived (wrongly IMO) as causing the Donald issue.
So yeah, respectfully, until I know the details on the 2 rookie contracts, I'll pass.
....
Well I did look. At one anyway--Darnold. The issues with Darnold are the exact same ones that happened with Bosa. When the bonus is paid v. offsets. It has nothing to do with the amount.
Here's a description of what happened with Bosa: [

Again, what's the common denominator? The agency. Something you fail to even speak to. That's fine, as I'll pass as well.
