why have you never posted your position on this before now? 
Secondly, this negotiation has been going on now for more than a year.
My opinion is that the two sides started out far apart and remain far enough apart that somebody has to lose now.
Either Donald ends up signing for quite a bit less than he wants.
Or when he finally signs he has already lost money just due to the elapsed time.
Or he and the Rams end up parting ways in a manner that leaves a bad taste in fans' mouth, regardless of who they blame.
I love having the best defensive player in the game. Some of what he does is amazing.
But IMO, no matter how exceptional he is compared to other DL's, there's only so much he can do to affect game outcomes from that position.
And he won't be able to make up for the loss of quality at other positions that will occur if he insists on being paid significantly more than ANY other defensive player.
This is in danger of becoming lose-lose.
