I would feel confident if they would sign Aaron Donald. I mean, at some point you have to settle down and work with the players you have. You can only stockpile so many draft picks. I would like to feel like the Rams were committed towards the future and building around the players that they have. The Rams have a lot of young talent, and it would be nice to see them keep the team together.
Plus in the case of Cooks, they weren't stockpiling picks, they gave up a first round pick for a guy in the final year of his contract.
On top of which, you can replace Watkins with Cooks. But there is no one in existence to replace Donald with who is equal to him, let alone better.
