Which leads me to believe they didn't really want to sign Jenkins unless he signed below market value. And unless Demoff was under a rock he knew that Fisher would have wanted him signed... which, to me, suggests that neither Fisher nor Jenkins were necessarily wanted.

In AD's case it appears clear that the Rams want keep him there. Perhaps its not the case idk but it seems like it. For some reason I feel like if Demoff wants a player he will work hard to sign him. In Jenkins case it didn't seem like much of an effort was put forth.

I agree with DZ. If those guys were really undermining the head coach in that kind of devious way, that makes them no good. Guys who are capable of acting like that will do it again. It's really no better in the end than Zygmunt.
So I give them the benefit of the doubt and don't assume that they are manipulative back-stabbers and basically bad managers in that way.
