it would be interesting if Fisher ever explained what in the world was he thinking to put together such a bland offense in the current age of football.
It is just stunning what kind of approach he had towards offense.
--------------
Well it worked in Seattle. Bland offense, bland defense. But they had Russell Wilson and the Beast on offense, and they had a historically talented Defense. Players. Ya know.
I aint sayin Fisher is or was a great coach. But he might very well have been as good as half the coaches coaching today. I dunno.
Put Fisher on those great Seattle teams and do they win it all? I dunno. Maybe.
Guess it dont matter anymore.

Fisher had a lot of the personnel too. We know that because they are now winning with those players.
What if Fisher had Wilson and he missed two seasons injuring the same knee..
-------------
Well he had Foles....and Foles...ya know
Anyway, sure, Fisher was dealt a bad-hand of injuries. Absolutely. And it affected the won-lost numbers, for sure.
But still (and i think RFL used to talk about this) there was somethin about the Fisher teams that wasnt quite right. Now one has to believe that one can factor out the injuries and STILL see things about the team, pros and cons, etc.
I dont think it was all the injuries. I do think Fisher lacked some things the new coach has. Not talkin about health and players. But i cant prove that and who knows. I'm kinda bored with the whole Fisher thing, though. I dont have much energy for it.

I get that you and RFL didnt like Fisher. That's how I felt about Linehan. I don't care, I just didn't like him.
On Foles. Foles did last year what he has ALWAYS done. Mix in extemely bad to the point of beyond bad play with some steady play. And I mean streaks of consecutive bad games, full of "wth was THAT" moments. That's true of every year except the one good one under Kelly, when he was back in a spread, but even then he fell apart the next year often enough for Kelly to trade him away. That pattern was no different last year. He started out just bloody miserable. Fortunately he was on good team with top experienced offensive coaches who knew him from before and had 2 2 week byes in the post-season to build things around him he could handle. Foles himself has said he hopes to remain with the Eagles which means he hopes to be a career #2. That's what Foles thinks of Foles.
Foles started out well after training camp with the Rams then went through his annual collapse. Eagles just had the good fortune of reversing it. Foles good games with the Rams were no different from his good games with the Eagles, and his bad games with the Eagles were just as bad as anything he did with the Rams.
If NF were a free agent and signed with some hopeful team it would not take long for the Mr. Hyde Foles to show up again. Just like he did with Kelly, Fisher, and Pederson.
