Well Pankey's problem with pro bowl recognition was 2 things.
1. He only played all 16 games 3 out of 10 years with the Rams. In fact across those 10 years, which represent 160 starts if never injured, he only played 117starts, which means he missed 43. In the other 7 years, the "not 16" years, he has out of 112 possible starts only 69. That's partly being a rookie and missing starts that way but then it becomes a long series of injury years.
2. There was a serious glut of great LOTs from 1980-1990. They include names like Mike Kenn, Pat Donovan, Art Shell, Anthony Munoz, Joe Jacoby, Chris Hinton, JImbo Covert, Louis Sharpe, Gary Zimmerman, Jim Lachey, Richmond Webb, Bruce Armstrong, and Lomas Brown.
