Cool interview with former LT Irv Pankey. He's one of the most underrated Rams, IMO. He has some good stuff here on this podcast.
Jake asks Pankey if he could have one guy from the current Rams team to help the Rams in NFC Champ game against the Niners in 1989 who would he want? Pankey said Jared Goff. (All of Jake's other guests when asked that question said Donald). Pankey said we were fine on defense, we just couldn't get it done on offense. This is obviously a subtle knock on Everrett, but he doesn't mention his name. Jake was floored when Pankey said Goff.
Pankey is very high on Goff, putting him and Warner as the top 2 QBs the Rams have had (I'm assuming he meant in modern times). It's not the point to agree or disagree with Pankey, The point is that a former Rams who was very close to the situation in 1989 feels Goff would give them the best chance to win.
Go to the 35:30 min mark for the Goff question.
