Brown is one of only three guards out of 41 eligible to have not allowed a quarterback pressure over the last two weeks and holds a 100.0 pass blocking efficiency.
Well, that whiff by Brown that allowed Goff to get blindsided and resulted in a DTD in week 16 wasn't even mentioned. I have no idea what PFF is watching sometimes. When you let a guy blow right past you and practically take the handoff that should count as a major negative on any scoring system. IMO, its much worse that not hold a block a long time and allowing your QB to get hit if he holds onto the ball too long. But I don't think PFF distinguishes the difference.
The PFF grades cited don't even appear to have included week 16 since that game hadn't happened yet.
And I concur with others: one play isn't a whole season. I tune out when people overemphasize one play - whether good or bad result. IMO, that's just not an accurate measure of anything.
And I'm pretty sure PFF has the distinction you make in their criteria.
