He could have a historic contract tomorrow. I don't see what he gains or how he justifies the risks of not making a deal.
Still, go, Aaron Donald. And go, Rams.
There is no way of actually knowing "he could have an historic contract tomorrow" and in fact there are indications the Rams are balking at paying him his market value. That''s not really known either though there are some signs of that.
If your entire argument is based on the assumption that the Rams offer is that good, that's just not a grounded assumption. Of course neither is the opposite, really, but again, at least on that side of it, there are signs from the Rams themselves that they are NOT offering "an historic contract" yet.
And he will not be holding out past Aug 7 even if it goes that far.
Huh? Balking at paying him market value? ALL indications are making him the highest paid defender in NFL (three years before they have to) how is that indications of balking at paying him his "market value"???
HOW?
The highest paid defensive lineman is $17M (Fletcher Cox) ...So what is the market? $25M all the sudden? I know you want to make a new category for AD, but that's not how it works.
I suspect AD isn't the one behind the idea of making him a martyr for setting a new market, I just hope he realizes that before it's too late.
