Teams did not have much in the way of choice last year when they could exercise the 3 options.
They had to apply to use throwbacks for specific games by asking the league in advance, and they were required to wear color rush on Thursday games.
Now they can do any of the 3 at any time just by choice.
So for example, any time they go on the road and the home team wears whites, instead of having to wear the blue jerseys, Rams can just take one of the 3 other options. Their choice. That's not how it worked last year.
