but it appears that he was Plan B and Cooks was the target... although I don't think that actually works on the timeline, lol.. I think they offered Watkins a contract that was good for the Rams and if he signed it, great, but I think they really wanted Cooks.
A bonus is that Cooks can actually run some of the TA stuff and have a similar effect.
IMO, Goff was handled with baby gloves last season. There could be a remarkable difference this year with his decision making but I think that's a bit too much to ask. Not saying it won't happen. I consider last season to be his rookie season (I know others vehemently disagree with this) so I am not expecting the light to go on. Some of the highlight reel stuff that I saw on Cooks were passes that Goff mentally doesn't make, IMO. He has all the tools but he's not where Brady or Brees is and its too much to ask that of him. I don't think McVay will. So the offense could struggle a bit if it will becomes more predictable. But IF McVay can stay a step ahead then eventually the lights are going to come on for Goff in a big way... and we can start talking the "D" word... that rhymes with "Wynasty".. but that scenario is needs some luck to make happen.
