Aqib Talib explains how Jared Goff compares to Tom Brady and Peyton Manning

Aqib Talib has been well traveled across his 10 seasons in the NFL, and the Los Angeles Rams will be the fourth team he’s suited up for. He’s played with some great quarterbacks along the way, including two of the all-time greats in Tom Brady and Peyton Manning during stops with the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos.
Talib recently did an interview with Dave Dameshek of NFL.com and was asked about Jared Goff’s development and how the third-year player stacks up against the two legendary signal callers. Perhaps no player is better suited to judge a quarterback than the cornerback who goes up against him every day in practice, and Talib’s response should leave Rams fans very excited.
Talib definitely didn’t feel uncomfortable speaking about Goff, Brady and Manning in the same breath, saying that just from the two months he’s spent with him, it’s clear Goff “knows the game.” He added that he has “one of the most accurate deep balls that I’ve seen in the NFL.” Talib certainly knows the game as well and has seen quite a few deep balls from some of the best to ever do it.
In addition to saying he’s “set up for success” and has a “huge arm,” Talib also had good things to say about Goff as a teammate. He said Goff “has a pretty good sense of humor” and is often joking around with guys in the locker room, like Manning was always doing.
Goff is looking to build on a 2017 season that saw him earn his first Pro Bowl berth as he threw for 28 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. It definitely seems like he’s got the backing of his teammates and his defense, both crucial for a young quarterback. If Goff can even come close to replicating the success of Brady and Manning, and Talib seems to think he can, the Rams will be set for many years to come.
