I didnt say it was a diss. I said it's a careless statement that leaves open the possibility of many intepretations which once again is why the reporter wrote the story and why we are discussing it.
You're right. You didn't expressly say diss.
You just called it an insult and used the phrase dumb ass to describe it/him.
I don't see those either. It's a huge stretch IMO to take a statement that a young QB was important to him and turn that into an insult of Goff.
But I do agree that the statement leaves open the possibility of many intepretations. To that I say "so what."
If people want to be dramatic and make up controversies from innocent things said, let them. I enjoy an athlete who answers questions honestly rather than catering to our too sensitive and PC society.
You know I don't think I have ever seen a player who signed with a new team make a comment about players on the old team. They just "buy in," go with the new flow, and everyone understands that. For that matter I don't recall Cooks saying anything about Brady or Brees.
IMO making anything of that in this case is just looking for things that are not there. And if anyone WERE to take Watkins wrong it would be a Rams fan, not a Chiefs fan, and why would Watkins care? His job is to sell himself as a Chief. I doubt the Rams or Bills crossed his mind at all.
