Much more worried about Cooks and Peters at this point. AD has a contract. He has to play for it or sit out. If he sits out he loses an earning year and a FA eligibility year. Maybe his agent convinced him to start doing a hold out, but as the team begins playing without him and we would still probably win, it would be difficult for him to remain out over money.
Not to worry SoCal, at least in the short term.
Cooks will be extended. That decision was made by the Rams before finalizing the trade. No brainer. Only remaining question is how much and how soon. Cooks has all the leverage and will demand top dollar, but I do think he likes it here and will be extended before opening day.
Peters will be a Ram for at least 2 more years, even without an extension. Too soon to worry about him just yet.
AD, as everybody and their brother knows, is under Ram control through ‘20 at the very least. And that’s the worst case scenario. So, why worry about him, either, just yet?
Honestly, the Rams have thought all these issues through backwards and forwards and I think that it’s clear that they’re all over this.
