The new KO rules

I believe the new rules have been hashed around here by several posters.
Except for one.
Teams do not have to down the KO ball in the EZ anymore. Leaving the ball free in the end zone becomes a dead ball, just like a punt.
I believe we all can see the handwriting on the wall here. They are emaciating the KO with the intent to abolish it someday. Probably sooner than later.
