Yes, my point is just that with 45% of TA's catches at or behind the LOS that is- I believe- a lot higher than any of those other players mentioned. And it also begs the question what was his catch percentage on the other 55% of throws. Probably really bad. And that again is the frustrating thing because you do see in the highlights that he could make those plays.
Yeah. He made those plays.
But he's not a receiver. Not really.
So what is he? I always thought of him just as an explosive weapon you get the ball to in space a number of different ways.
The advantage?
1. a big play
2. defenses fearing him whenever he's on the field.
I balance all that in with whether he was a smooth consistent receiver every play.
All the criticisms of him seem to say, he's not really a pure receiver.
But I never saw him as one, so I take what he is--an explosive playmaker who can catch the ball different ways, run the ball different ways, and you can't tell from where he lines up which it will be.
Because he IS that, he draws defensive attention, so you have to see him as a combined runner, receiver, and decoy.
