It's a negotiation...
The team is going to say basically what the fans want to hear. The team doesn't OWE telling us anything, really.
I do want to see AD around here for many more years. But, I'd not break the bank on him until the team HAS to. I would like to see them increase his salary some for the next 2 years. Show him some love but don't handcuff the team until it's necessary.
Now.. That said, one does wonder if the Rams could quickly become a team where players don't want to go if they are going to drag out their star players.
If I have to pick between paying TG or AD and tagging the other for a couple of years, I'd pay AD and tag Gurley. If they keep getting him this many touches, he's likely to be pretty used up in 3 more seasons.
Some Rams player is going to be pissed and dragged out with the "tag". AD, Cooks, Gurley, Goff? They can't pay them them all on long term contracts so someone is getting the screws put to them within the next few years.
